Valentine Pillow Boxes

Today was going through my stash of retired Valentine's gems, thinking maybe I would make some old timey size Valentines, like what I got when I was in school. They were about 2" x 4". Then I found a Paper Pumpkin kit from January 2019, called "Be My Valentine", in the box I found a ton of "extras" in it along with about 15 already made pillow boxes. Hmmm..... this would be so much easier than making cupcake boxes and cupcakes. Not that I don't think my friends are worth the effort, but with my chronic fatigue I have to manage on how I use my energy, and why not use up something that I already have made?

So my mind started thinking, I have these conversation hearts that I bought for the cupcakes, so I decided to use the pillow boxes and put some conversation hearts in the pillow boxes along with 2 Hershey kisses and a Hershey nugget. (That's pretty much filled up the pillow box)

I didn't want to just put the conversation candies in loose in the pillow boxes, so I checked to see if I had any cellophane bags in my stash. Low and behold!!!! There were some 2" x 8" gusseted bags. Now, realizing that they were much too long, I decided to cut the bags in half and use my Fuse tool to seal the bottoms, of the tops that I cut off. WORKED LIKE A CHARM!

I put the conversation heart candies in the cellophane bags, taped them shut, put them in the pillow boxes with the chocolates. Love how they turned out!

I think this treat idea is a much better idea for me. I'll save the cupcakes and boxes idea for another occasion, maybe a 70th birthday?

If you are not familiar with the Fuse tool, I mentioned it earlier in a post about scrapbooking. I wasn't sure how I could display a hand made greeting card from my grandson when he was about 2. I found out that, with the Fuse tool, I could cut a slot in a scrapbook protective page sleeve and slide it in. If you are interested in how to do that, here is that video.

This is the Fuse tool, you can find it on Amazon.

If you are interested in pillow boxes, would love to make some for you. I have two styles, the simple one on the left and the more fancy one on the right. Let me know and I can cut them from plain card stock and mail them for you. Cost would depend on how many you need.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I hope you found some inspiration here today! Now, where is my chocolate?

Happy Valentine's Day!
