Thin Blue Line
I was asked by my church to create a card for one of our church members who is graduating from the Police Academy. This was a request that is close to my heart, since my late husband was a sheriff and had been in law enforcement for over 30 years, though we were only together the last 3 years of his life.
I CASE'D this card from one I saw on Zazzle.
I started off with a piece of Basic White cardstock 4" x 5-1/4".
I cut several 1/4" strips of black and one of Pacific Point.
The triangle is a 3-1/2" square cut in two from corner to corner.
I then used the stars die from the retired Mini Treat Bag die set and cut the rows of stars, starting at the top. I line up the die with the top, then the second row, I lined up the die with the bottom of the stars I just die cut, moving the die over a little so they created an alternating pattern.
I glued the triangle down on the white cardstock and then started lining up my strips on the left side of the triangle, letting them overhang over the edge of the white cardstock. Then I turned this piece, over, when I was done gluing and cut the ends off.
The badge is a clip art image that I found on the internet. I printed it out on cardstock an fussy cut it.
The congratulations sentiment is from the retired "Beautiful Friendship" stamp set. It's stamped in Pacific Point and punched with one of my favorite punches the "Banners Pick A Punch". I love it because it has two patterns and can punch 1/2", 3/4" and 1" strips in any length that I need.
The front is layers on Night of Navy and the card base Basic Black.
I like how it turned out.
