Sending Love and Paper Pumpkin

I thought this new set in the January - April 2024 Mini catalog was so cute and could work really well for so many cards. First off I was thinking of a woman I've known since "childhood" who has just bought her 1st new home.

Then, this morning I came up with and idea of pairing it with a set that is available to demonstrators for Paper Pumpkin customers, called One Stop Box. The mailbox is stamped in Gray Granite and the Paper Pumpkin box is stamped in Poppy Parade and fussy cut.

I used an Online Exclusive DSP called One Horse Open Sleigh. It seemed appropriate for a chilly Minnesota winter with wind chill warnings and a temperature of 4 degrees outside. What a fun surprise to find in your mailbox, and to hunker down and play with a new kits with a steaming mug of hot cocoa.

My second card is more of a Valentine's card. This one took me a little more time to pull together. I used silver foil to die cut the mail box and Tear & Tape to seal it together on the back side. (Glue is a big no no with foil, gets on my fingers and then on the foil and then it's ruined). I die cut the bottom part of the flag from silver foil and put a little adhesive sheet on a scrap of Real Red and fussy cut it to attach to the flag. There is a little hole created when you die cut the mailbox and the flag to put them together with a little brad. Use your bone folder to flatten the brad out.

Maybe a red letter is an old fashioned term. It always meant something positive in the mail, happy mail!!! The cute little die for the envelope is so much fun! You could even put a little note inside if you wish. There's also a letter stamp and die cut for just a letter. I die cut the little hearts out a piece of scrap white paper and adhered them with glue dots. I used the left over gems from my December Paper Pumpkin kit "All The Best" for to embellish the hearts.

I wanted a little more dimension to the mailbox post, it does create a woodgrain when you die cut it, but I put a little Soft Suede ink on the die with my Blending Brush to make it stand out more. Then I cut the rest of the post from another piece of Kraft paper and stamped it in Soft Suede, then glued the two posts together.

I die cut the grass from scraps of Pear Pizzaz (retired) and Old Olive and then sponged the tips with Old Olive. I popped them up with Dimensionals.

I stamped the circle in Real Red and then discovered the die cut hearts fit inside the hearts on the stamp. So I die cut a couple out of a scrap of Real Red and attached them with glue dots to the center of the circle.

I think they turned out pretty cute.

Here are the stamp and die sets that I used. Sending Love is in the January - April 2024 Mini Catalog, click on the link to order.

There are so many options here. I hope to play more with this set.
