Reese's Miniatures Gift Box

My plans were to make this earlier as a gift box for Yankee Warming Tarts but, alas, I evidently sold the punch that was used for the platform for the tart. So I revised it for Reese's Miniature Peanut Butter cups. But again I didn't have any candy on hand, and this being Minnesota and with brutally cold weather last week, I opted to wait until I wanted to venture out to the store to pick up the candy. This box goes together so quickly that it's easy to make several at the last minute for stocking stuffers or gifts to have on hand for surprise visitors!

This box is pretty easy to make with just a few tools; score tool, paper trimmer, paper snips and bone folder.

Follow me along on my video:

Here are a few photos to help with the scoring and punching:

Directions:

Cardstock: 4-3/4" by 11"

On the long side score at 3/8", 3-1/8", 3-1/2", 6-1/4", 7-1/4" & 10"

Turn 1/4 turn clockwise to the short side

On the short side, with the short score line at the top, score at 1" and 3-3/4" all the way to the bottom

Still on the short side score down to the third score line at 5/8" and 4-1/8"

Burnish the score lines.

Cut and notch as shown below:

On the left hand side (top), put a thumbhole with a 3/4" circle or small oval punch.

Using your template punch holes in the platform (right side in photo) for the candy.

Assemble the box as shown in the video.

Cut a piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and adhere to the top,

Decorate and embellish the top as you desire. I used the Humble Home stamp set and punch and accented it with the red gems from the Loose Holly Gems and the Starlight/Peppermint candies
