Penguin Place: Give It A Whirl!
My middle grandson's birthday is this month, and he LOVES penguin and things that have moving parts. He seems to be on the path to be an engineer. He's built some remarkable things; a robot when he was 8, created games with Legos and built some whirly gig thing during Sunday School that had the adults astounded!
When I saw the Penguin Place bundle, I knew I would have to get it and I got it just in time for his birthday. I love that I got the coordinating DSP free. It's a Sale-a-bration item, which will be starting in August and going through September. The Penguin Place bundle is in the August - December 2021 Mini Catalog which also starts in August.
I stamped the sliding penguin on both Basic Black and Basic White and fussy cut them both out and layered them together. The other penguin was punched out with the Penguin Builder punch, that coordinates with it. The little feet and beak are stamped in Cajun Craze and also punched out with the coordinating punch.
The there are two parts to the penguin in the punch, aside from the feet. I punch the background of the body in black and the "bib" part of the penguin in white. Then stamped the beak and eyes. He's so stinking cute!
There is a "snowbank" in the stamp set, which I stamped on Soft Seafoam in Gray Granite. They sure look like they are having fun! I didn't want the card to look too wintery.
I paired it with the "A Grand Kid" stamps set, because, well, HE IS! Smart and sweet and thoughtful. I used the balloon stamp from the "Penguin Place" stamp set and fussy cut it. It's stamped in Misty Moonlight. I used a little Baker's Twine that I had from, who knows where, for the balloon string.
I also stamped balloons on the envelop flap in Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia and Soft Seafoam, all colors in the DSP pack. I love the little penguin peaking out. :-)
There are a lot of cute things coming out in the August - December 2021 Mini (Holiday) Catalog and I love that it's also a second Sale-a-bration time! This is the first time that we've ever had Sale-a-bration, twice in the year!
