Let's Go Shopping! Small town living

The "Let's Go Shopping" stamp set, dies and the coordinating "Les Shoppes" Designer Series Paper (DSP) reminds me of the quaint little town that I live in. If you have ever watched any movies showing small towns, well that's pretty much what my small town looks like. They even based a movie on my town "New In Town" starring Renee Zellweger. One of her classic lines is something like "it's like living in a theme park", which isn't too far from the truth, in my opinion. LOL

Yesterday I had the opportunity to give a couple of my cousins a tour of our little town. One has been here before and loves our little town, especially the quilt shops. The other just retired and has worked all over the world teaching, mostly art, on military bases. Her last country was Japan.

So this stamp set has a special place in my heart reminding me of our little town. This month's card uses two of the shops fussy cut from the DSP and the little potted plant, which has a die in the Let's Go Shopping coordinating die set. Sadly, I love the background blueprint like DSP so much I have used most of it up. LOL. The gray geometric pattern also makes a cute sidewalk for your little buildings. Get a closer look at all the different patterns on my Stampin' Up!© website (link below)

This is a simple card to put together. It does include a little heat embossing on the sentiment. I'll give you a couple of tips on heat embossing.

This is a great for someone just starting out in card making. Here's a little video showing how I put it together.

I love all the little extra images in the Let's Go Shopping die set! Especially the old fashioned lamp post and the cute little bench. There's also some cut window cutouts, an awning, hanging lights, There is also some hanging greenery for your buildings, that would be cute cut out of some DSP.

Here's a glimpse of my little town and how the store fronts that remind me of the shops on our DSP.
