Fun Fold Fence Card
A few weeks ago a friend sent me a Facebook reel on a fun fold card with flowers. It was adorable video and about 30 seconds long. It was so cute I decided to do my own take on this card and stepped it a little bit by adding a fence.
It's basically a Double Z-fold, I added some DSP with sky & clouds and some of paper from the same package with flowers & grass (retired Rain or Shine). I punched some flowers and leaves from punches I had on hand and the fence is made from scraps of white cardstock. The beauty of a card like this is that you can use whatever background you choose, like fall with some leaves, winter with some snow flakes, skate, sled, skis or special holidays with whatever you have on hand.
Dimensions: card base is 8-1/2" x 8, scored on the long side at 4-1/4 and 2-1/8". Cut 2-1/2 off the bottom, which will give you the scored piece for the second Z fold. Flip it around so the long, scored side will be on the left.
Fence:
Eleven 3" x 1/2" pieces for the fence posts.
Two 4-1/4" x 1/2" for the cross pieces on the left (long) panel in the front
Four 2" x 1/2" pieces for the ross pieces on the (short) panel in the front.
DSP Panels
Clouds for base of card two 2" x 3-1/2" pieces, for the two panels on the left side
Clouds one piece 4-1/4" x 3-1/2 scored at 2-1/8, for the right side of the base
Grass behind fence two pieces 2" x 2-1/4" for short panels, and one 2" x 4" for the long side.
I cut the corners off of the long fence post pieces and sponged the edges in Gray Granite. Then I embossed them all with the Timber embossing folder.
When I give this card I will cut a piece of white card stock and stamp my sentiment and put it on one of the inside panels with the clouds, or turn it over and write it there.
It was quite fun to make and let my imagination run with this card. I must admit, I think I will try it with some winter scenes using the Sophisticated Sleds bundle and Thoughtful Journey DSP
When doing a winter scene you could even tear a little bit of Basic White DSP and layer it along the fence and use some dab some embossing paste along the top of the fence and sprinkle with some white glitter, for snow.
This was a fun card to make and can't wait to make a winter one! Hope you will give it a try too. Let me know if there is a technique you'd like me to demonstrate and I would be happy to give it a whirl with a video.
