Easy Gift Bag with 2 sheets of DSP
I wanted to make two more gift bags today and I found this easy bag, by Jackie Bolhuis, made from two sheets of DSP. I love this bag
1. because it's simple and
2. because it can be customized to the size you need.
The only limitations are the size of your 12" x 12" DSP. For my bag with the trees, I used two sheets of DSP cut to 10" x 10". Decide which side of the pattern you want on the outside and what you want for the top border. Make sure that if you have directional paper that you have that pattern only on one side or one of the patterns may be upside down. I've done this.
The top I scored at 1-1/2" and the other three sides I scored at 2". You can make your bag any height and depth according to your score marks. So this finished bag was 8" across the front, 8-1/2" tall and 2" deep.
The smaller bag is made from 2 sheets of 8" x 8" of DSP, scored the same. It's finished size is 4" wide, 2" deep and 5-1/2" tall.
Follow along on my video:
Supplies:
Two sheets of DSP (Designer Series/Pattern Paper)
Score Tool
Paper Trimmer
Adhesive
Paper Snips
Ribbon
Paper Punch
Any embellishments you want for tag or bag.
I hope you enjoyed this alternative to gift bags. I think this may be my favorite. Now I just need to figure out how to incorporate the bags that I accidently made extra holes with my Crop-a-dile!
