Cornucopia of Christmas Cards
The last couple of weeks I've been inspired to make Christmas cards. I kind of lost my mojo for a long time. Well, I should preface this by saying I received my order with the Sophisticated Sled bundle, the Peaceful Christmas stamp set, the Dipped In Gold Cards & Envelopes and the Season of Elegance DSP.
My initial plan was to pair the Season of Elegance with the Dipped in Gold cards & envelopes package, so I ordered 3 packages of the cards & envelopes and 2 packets of the DSP. Well, much to my chagrin, the colors didn't exactly coordinate, as I had thought they would. I should have looked closer at the descriptions.
The green in the cards was Garden Green and the green in the DSP was Old Olive. The red in both was Cherry Cobbler (whew, relief) and the blue on the cards was Night of Navy and the blue in the DSP package was Pretty Peacock. Well this blue my plan out o the water. Time to rethink. So while I pondered on what to do I decided to work on the Warm Wishes cards and envelopes I found in my closet from last year. It was an add-on to the October 2023 Home for the Holidays Paper Pumpkin Kit and there were 20 of them!!!!!
Well one thing led to another and I've ended up with more cards than I had planned on, since I cut the Warm Wishes cards in half, now I have 40 of those. I've used many of my retired stamp sets and dies as well.
I also bought the Humble Home stamp and punch bundle. It's so darn cute!
Most of these cards I have made three of, except the sled, which I made 20 of(it took me one day of die cutting and one day of putting the sleds and skates together). The Hark the Herald Angels I made 22 of. Lots of die cutting on these cards!!!!
Now I'm waiting on a punch to make some evergreen sprigs. I want to make a couple of window cards, one from looking outside in, seeing a Christmas tree in front of the window. And another looking outside seeing some pretty winter scenes with some DSP I have on had. It's fun making all these different versions. I hope they provide you with a little bit of inspiration, to use up what you might have on hand. Some of these will end up in my store on this website others I will be mailing out to friends and family.
I want to make some cards with the Season of Elegance DSP too. It is so gorgeous with the gold foiling.
Well, back to my crafting table! I hope you enjoyed this!
Take care!
