April Card Classes Card 1, "Friends Are Like Seashells"

April card classes featured 3 cards one stamp set and dies set that are carrying over to the new 2023-2024 annual catalog that previews May 2, 2023, "Around The Bend" and two of my favorites that are retiring May 1; "Friendly Gnomes and Gnome dies" and "Friends Are Like Sea Shells" and "Seashell dies".

My favorite retiring set is the "Friends Are Like Seashells" I think this is probably the most beautiful beach theme set in recent years.

It has several shells to choose from and beautiful greetings.

The coordinating dies can also be embossed. Some may be a little tricky or can just be fussy cut. The large die will cut several shells that can be placed in the embossing folder. The background stamps can add a little bit more of interest.

I also used a retired embossing folder "Seabed" for a little more interest to the background layer.

The card base is Basic White 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4". #159276

There is a background layer of Crumb Cake cut 5-3/8" x 4-1/8", #120953

The white embossed layer is 4" x 5-1/4"

The sponged layer is 2-3/4" x 4", it is sponged with Coastal Cabana (one of my favorite colors). #147097

The shells are stamped in Crumbcake as is the sentiment. #147116

It is embossed with the "Faux Sea Glass Shapes" #158139 (retiring 2023)

Blending Brushes #153611

We used the Blending Brushes for the sponging. Remember to start off the cardstock when moving on to it in a circular motion, so as not to get dark spots on you cardstock.

We also accented the card with a little bit of Linen Thread, tied in a bow and secured with a Glue Dot.
